13. Sacred Wounds & the Ezer Kenegdo
In a spiritual context, a "sacred wound" refers to a deep, transformative trauma or suffering that, instead of being a source of negativity, becomes a catalyst for growth, healing, and a deeper connection with the divine or oneself.
When God creates Eve, He calls her an “ezer kenegdo.” That’s the word used in the original Hebrew in Genesis 2:18. Turns out, this phrase is notoriously difficult to translate into English.
